I had the pleasure of interviewing The Caffrey Brothers on the show on Saturday, three Geordie brothers who have a rich history in music reaching back to the early 1960's. In the first podcast from the Chris Wright Show, you can hear the interview, which includes three exclusive live acoustic songs from the guys.
The band (who are not an Irish music band) are probably best categorised as being in the prog rock style of the 1970's, but with an eclectic range of influences from every decade from the 'fifties until this one, it's hard to pigeonhole them with any accuracy, so best not even try. With three sharp albums under their belts and experience and skill shining through every performance, I'd certainly recommend going to see The Caffreys live, and picking up a CD from them after the gig.
For now, have a listen to the podcast - the three acoustic songs are worth the download alone. The Caffreys also make interesting interviewees, and we get into some interesting discussions about playing live, writing and arranging songs, and how to define success.
